I'm excited to share an update on the brand new veterinary clinic you're helping us build right here in the heart of Brooklyn!
The need for affordable veterinary care is huge. So we designed a facility that can accommodate both high volume, high quality spay neuter surgeries, and the critical wellness services that every pet needs.
Check out the video below to see the construction progress!
Construction is well underway, with crews working on framing, plumbing, electrical, and installing a high-quality HVAC system. Given the scope of the cat overpopulation crisis in NYC, you're helping us create the capacity for tens of thousands of surgeries over the next decade.
Now as you can imagine, building something this big from the ground up - especially in the middle of New York during high inflation - is really complex and expensive.
But so is veterinary care. People need these services. So we need to make a long-term investment and get it right.
Thanks to your help, our team is still doing rescue and TNR every day. We’ve got several families of moms and kittens awaiting foster placement right now - and kitten season has barely begun!
I can tell you from years of firsthand experience - this will make a massive difference. As more neighbors and community members have affordable access to veterinary care, we'll have fewer cats on the street needing help.
Every year, this clinic will serve thousands of New Yorkers who may have never seen a veterinarian before.
So as we get closer to the completion of the construction phase, we'll begin hiring and recruiting the rest of our amazing veterinary team that will bring this clinic - and our mission - to life.
This clinic has been a dream for so many years now - it’s surreal to think the doors will finally be open in just a few short months. We’ve got lots more work to do before the clinic is ready for day one - so stay tuned for more updates soon.
