Responsibilities:
Perform and document up to 25-35 pre-surgical examinations (including visual exams on TNR cats) making sure to use fear free handling techniques
Ability to identify conditions that may preclude a safe surgical procedure or anesthesia and reject patients in compliance with our protocols
Spay and Neuter up to 25-35 male and female cats and dogs
Respond appropriately to post-operative complications and lead the team in managing surgical and post-operative emergencies
Must be able to independently manage (with the support of the surgical technicians and assistants) scrotal hematoma(s), hemoabdomen(s), dehiscence(s), adverse anesthetic events, and vaccine reactions.
Monitor post-operative recovering patients
Excellent communication skills with staff and clients
Ability to lead the surgical team to complete all necessary procedures
This position requires lifting, kneeling, and standing.

Who you are:
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent from an AVMA-accredited institution
Licensed and in good standing in New York state
PLIT or equivalent professional liability insurance
Comfortable performing HQHVSN independently on both dogs and cats
Positive attitude, excellent work ethic, and ability to change direction based on the needs of the team
Location: Our clinic is located in Flatbush, Brooklyn.

Pay: $145k-155k based on experience
Schedule: Four 10 hour shifts
