There are thousands of cats on the streets in Brooklyn.
What can a few people do?
ABOUT US
Flatbush Cats is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization focused on reducing the outdoor cat population in Brooklyn.
We have three focus areas:
TNR (trap-neuter-return) training, mentoring and assistance
Cat rescue + adoption
Increasing affordable access to spay neuter services (coming soon)
We didn’t plan to be in the cat game.

Frequently asked questions
How can I learn how to do TNR on my block?
We teach a free, online trap-neuter-return course. Visit flatbushcats.org/tnr to learn more and sign up for the next class. [NOTE: classes are currently on hold]
Can I donate leftover food or supplies that I can’t use?
We don’t have a physical space, so we can’t accept donated food, medicine or other items. You can donate food to Sean Casey Rescue.
I’m interested in adopting a cat, but don’t see any listed on your adoption application?
We list cats for adoption screening as soon as they are available, and remove their names when we already have several qualified applicants. Occasionally we also have wait lists for certain types of cats (ex. “pair of kittens TBD”), if that’s what you’re looking for, it’s helpful to fill out an application so you’re in the system. From there, our adoption coordinator will reach out to you within 3-5 days. Please note we do not adopt out single kittens unless you already have another young cat.
