HELP BUILD BROOKLYN’S FIRST AFFORDABLE SPAY NEUTER CLINIC
By bringing accessible veterinary care to Brooklyn cat owners and rescue volunteers, you can save thousands of lives - for years to come.
By bringing accessible veterinary care to Brooklyn cat owners and rescue volunteers, you can save thousands of lives - for years to come.
Thousands of cats are fighting to survive outdoors. Many don’t make it past their first few months.
Rescue groups are overwhelmed with help requests and huge medical bills. And shelters have been overflowing for decades.
BUT THOSE ARE JUST SYMPTOMS.
"The vast majority of kittens in the US are born outdoors to community cats; without spaying and neutering these free-roaming felines, we will never be able to save the lives of every kitten in need. The Flatbush Cats clinic will provide vital services that address the kitten crisis at its root.”

50% of US Pet Households Can No Longer Afford a Basic Vet Visit
The need in NYC is massive: 170,000+ additional spay neuter (S/N) appointments are needed every year.
The result: thousands of kittens are born outside every year.
Rescuers can’t access the S/N appointments they need to fix the cats in their community - which is key to controlling overpopulation - and shelters have been at capacity for decades.
The result: We can’t save them all. Some estimate that there are as many as 500,000 cats on the streets of NYC!
“Financial barriers are the #1 reason why families don’t seek out care for their cats. Basic care can be a barrier for pet guardians who otherwise have a strong and loving bond with their pets. This program is so desperately needed and could be a game-changing model!”
WORLD FAMOUS FELINE BEHAVIORIST, BESTSELLING AUTHOR
We imagined a day when no cats suffered on the street or waited around in cages. To break this cycle for good and make a real lifesaving impact, we need to ensure that every pet lover has affordable access to quality spay neuter and veterinary wellness services.
Increased Spay Neuter
More feral and free-roaming community cats are fixed.
Fewer Kittens
As cat owners access affordable vet services, fewer kittens are born outside.
Lower Population Size
These combined efforts begin to reduce the number of cats outside.
Help Shelters
Given the rate at which cats reproduce, we’ll slow the intake rate at shelters across the city.
Save Lives
By helping reduce the need for euthanasia, our impact on the overpopulation crisis over the next decade will be enormous.
Today, you can help build Brooklyn’s first accessible and affordable clinic to serve pet owners in the community and rescuers across the city. This clinic will provide 7,500+ high-quality spay neuter surgeries and thousands of vet wellness services every year, addressing the root of the crisis.
We all love our pets, and we all deserve the love and companionship they offer.
A problem this large can only be solved through collaboration with the animal welfare community and the neighbors we serve. The lack of accessible, affordable services impacts our friends, family, and neighbors - and disproportionately affects people due to their race, ethnicity, and poverty level of their neighborhood.
Our clinic will set the bar for rigorous standards of care.
We are incorporating best-in-class veterinary protocols and collaborating with industry experts, both locally and nationally, on our clinic design and processes.
It’s your chance to bring equity to animal welfare, putting people and their pets at the center. Giving every cat the life they deserve - and every family the chance to enjoy the love and companionship that our cats provide.

“I have worked in the veterinary spay/neuter field for over 20 years, and I can attest to the overwhelming need for more spay/neuter appointments in Brooklyn. This was the case before COVID, now the situation is even more dire. More appointments will mean less cats on the street, and can also mean surrender prevention for many low income residents.”
